    The Broken Group Islands are part of the Pacific Rim National Park, BC. Located off the west coast of Vancouver Island, the area is made up of a hundred small islands with sand and shell beaches and lush temperate rain forests. Just off the West Coast of British Columbia, islands with magnificent trees, white sand beaches, and an abundance of wildlife wait for anyone adventurous enough to discover them. The enchanting Broken Group Islands consist of more than a hundred independent islands, scattered throughout the calmest waters of the Pacific Ocean.
    Kayaking through the Broken Islands allows visitors to glide through waters that often resemble glass, immersed in the serenity and beauty of one of the world’s most splendid destinations. Marine and land mammals to watch for include Orcas, Humpbacks and Grey Whales, sea otters, sea lions, wolves, deer, eagles, and pelicans. With such a rich cultural and ecological history, there is always something to look out for or ponder on our paddle.       For over 1000 years, pilgrims have traipsed wearily across the plains, hills, coastlines, and mountains of the Iberian Peninsula to pay homage at the shrine of St James (Santiago) in Spain’s northwestern city of Santiago de Compostela. El Camino de Santiago de Compostela is one of the world’s most famous and greatest long-distance walks.

      Along the way, you may encounter a few who are faithful, but you’re equally as likely to meet a diverse mix of hikers, cyclists and horse riders, or just those on some kind of personal journey. You will be walking north along a more tranquil route – “El Camino de Santiago por la Costa” – the Portuguese Camino by the Coast.

      This lesser-travelled part of the Portuguese Camino is stunningly beautiful and follows the coast to Santiago. Meet fellow pilgrims, discover local traditions and enjoy the unique atmosphere of it all, rewarding yourself with good food after a day walking the lush countryside. Don’t worry, you will walk far enough to earn yourself a pilgrim certificate, Compostela, at the Pilgrims Office when you arrive in Santiago. Explore the magic of Santiago’s Old Town, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage city.
