On this Ultimate Bears & Belugas Summer Adventure we leave the Churchill estuary to explore the Hudson Bay coastline and observe Polar Bears and thousands of Beluga Whales up close and personal along with many other wildlife.
With 60,000 Beluga Whales filling the Hudson Bay and Polar Bears leaving the melting sea ice, summer is an amazing time to visit Churchill, Manitoba, Canada! Come aboard our brand new flagship vessel the Matonabee, the ONLY Arctic touring vessel with underwater viewing on the planet, and explore the Hudson Bay coastline where the majestic polar bears are migrating at this time of year! Our beautiful Arctic Crawlers™ will take you to experience the vast expanse of the tundra with its beautiful flora, fauna and wildlife. We are the only company in Churchill that goes to where the Polar Bears are at this time!

DAY 2: Winnipeg to Churchill

Churchill Heritage Tour, includes exploring Cape Merry and an outside tour of the ‘Polar Bear Jail’ among many other historic sites (approx. 2-3 hours). The Churchill Heritage Tour takes you to Churchill and the surrounding area where you will explore various historic sites. These include Cape Merry, an outside tour of the ‘Polar Bear Jail’, the wreckage of the famous plane, ‘Miss Piggy’, and many other historic sites that make Churchill the town it is today.

DAY 3: Hudson Bay Coastal Tour
Matonabee Boat Excursion
Hudson Bay Coastal Tour aboard the Matonabee vessel in anticipation of viewing Polar Bears and other arctic wildlife (approx. 6-8 hours). Lazy Bear Expeditions Captain will take you into Hudson Bay aboard our
new Canadian Coast Guard arctic ocean certied vessel Matonabee. On this unique adventure, together, we will explore one of the more remote Polar Bear viewing areas on the west side of the bay. Since most Polar Bears are in this viewing area during summer, our adventure gives you the best opportunity to see Polar Bears in their summer habitat. You may see Polar Bears swimming, exploring around the rocks and wildowers, as well as sunbathing along the shore. Weather and wildlife permitting, we will have the privilege to disembark the boat, giving us an unforgettable experience to walk where Polar Bears roam.

DAY 4: Beluga Whale Boat Tour + Fort Tour
Baby Belugas
Beluga Whale Boat Tour/Fort Tour to see Beluga Whales in the water and walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort (approx. 3 hours)
Along the shoreline, hundreds of Beluga Whales come to feed, mate and give birth in the warm, shallow, near-coastal waters. Our Beluga Whale Boat/Fort Tour will focus on viewing beautiful Beluga Whales in their natural habitat in the Churchill River and into the Hudson Bay area as they feed on schools of Caplin, Arctic Char and Brook Trout.
We will also go ashore for a walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort. Beluga AquaGlidingTM and kayaking with the whales are available as optional activities, providing the opportunity to get ‘Up North and PersonalTM’ with these magnicient marine mammals.

DAY 5: Free Day to Explore Churchill
