FOLLOW ME NORTH

TANZANIA PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

A Small-Group Wildlife & Photography Tour During the Great Migration

Soak-in breathtaking scenery while having mind-blowing wildlife experiences in Tanzania with Follow Me North.

We’re proud to partner with the extraordinary photography duo, Jess & Susan from Follow Me North, to offer an EXCLUSIVE 11-Day wildlife and landscape photography workshop in Tanzania.

Imagine waking up to the sounds of the African bush: birds calling, lions roaring, and hyenas laughing in the distance. You reach for your camera just as the first light of dawn dances across the savannah. From the comfort of your unique suite, an elephant strolls by your balcony, and just beyond him, a sea of wildebeest begins to move. You’re not just on safari, you’re following the rhythm of the Great Migration. This isn’t just a vacation, it’s a dream come true!

Why settle for crowded safari vehicles and noisy groups when you can immerse yourself in a more intimate, luxury experience, designed exclusively for you and your journey as a photographer?

Our Tanzania Photography Workshop is an extraordinary opportunity for a small group of passionate photographers to immerse themselves in breathtaking landscapes, capture stunning wildlife, and experience Africa in a way few others ever do. This isn’t just a trip: it’s a meaningful journey that supports eco-tourism, empowers local communities, and protects Africa’s most majestic creatures.

And the wildlife? It will leave you speechless!
Dates: Aug 2-12, 2026

Special Note: Due to the intimate nature of our trip, we only have room for 10 people! This tour is best suited for couples or friends who don’t mind sharing a room/bed.

Bush Rovers - Tanzania Wildlife Photography Tour

DAY 2 to 4 – Northern Serengeti – Bush Rover Suites

After an early breakfast, transfer to Arusha airport for flight to Serengeti national park – Kogatende airstrip. Meet your guide and enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti national park with a picnic lunch finishing at the award-winning private and unique safari camp right in the heart of the action but away from the crowds.

Your home for the next three nights: Ingeniously crafted from working Land Rover Defenders, the Bush Rover Suites are unlike any safari accommodation in the world. Each of the six solar-powered suites opens up with the elegance of a swallowtail into a beautifully designed two-level retreat—blending exclusivity, comfort, and adventure in the heart of the wild.

Upstairs, a spacious bedroom awaits, furnished with either a double or twin beds, complete with mosquito nets and an attached dressing area and toilet. Elevated high above the plains, this vantage point offers safety, privacy, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness. From your private balcony, you can sip a sundowner and watch the drama of the Great Migration unfold just below.

DAY 5 to 6 – Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast say goodbye to the team at Bush rover and exit the park via the Machochwe gate, transfer by road through the scenic villages before arriving at Little Okavango Camp in time for lunch. Later head into water channels for a boating safari amongst the reeds.  Dinner and overnight at your camp.

Spanning over 30,000 square kilometers, the greater Serengeti–Masai Mara ecosystem is Africa’s most iconic wildlife sanctuary. Shared between northern Tanzania and southern Kenya, this vast and protected landscape supports the largest land mammal migration on Earth. Each year, more than 1.5 million white-bearded wildebeest, 250,000 zebras, and countless gazelles follow the seasonal rains, shadowed by lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and vultures in a timeless cycle of survival. Alongside this awe-inspiring migration, the Serengeti is home to an extraordinary diversity of resident wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, eland, and over 500 bird species.

Tucked between the Serengeti and Lake Victoria, a small and remote camp offers front-row access to the wildlife-rich Western Corridor. Just ten minutes from the Serengeti’s Ndabaka Gate, it provides easy entry into an area renowned for its predator activity, dense gatherings of plains game, and dramatic seasonal movement. The surrounding wetlands and waterways attract an astounding variety of birdlife, while elephants, hippos, and other large mammals are frequent visitors to the area, making it an ideal place to begin or end a Serengeti safari adventure.

Saadani National Park - Tanzania Photography Tour

DAY 8 to 10 – Saadani National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Saadani, the only coastal preserve in East Africa. It is one of only 2 parks which is allowed to have boat safaris.  This is one of the best places to see large elephant herds which can be up to 80 strong.  As soon as you enter the park you will drive straight to the Wami river for a thrilling boat safari followed by a game drive to your camp, situated right on the edge of the Indian Ocean.

What truly sets Saadani apart is its stretch of wild, deserted white-sand beach along the Indian Ocean, part of a rare ecosystem that links land and sea. Just 26 miles across the Zanzibar Channel from Unguja Island, this area once served as a trade outpost during the Swahili Coast’s maritime heyday, giving the park not only ecological but also cultural depth. Today, Saadani offers a rare fusion of classic safari adventure, coastal biodiversity, and centuries of human history—all in one unforgettable destination.

The nine raised suites at this coastal retreat are designed to immerse guests in the raw beauty of Saadani’s unique setting, where bush meets beach along the Indian Ocean. Each suite is tucked beneath a traditional makuti thatched roof, offering generous space and a sense of calm, with large verandas that open onto views of deserted white-sand beaches and endless blue horizon.

Inside, the rooms are elegantly simple and comfortably furnished. Bedrooms feature either plush double or comfortable twin beds, all dressed in luxurious linens and draped with protective mosquito nets for a peaceful night’s rest. Each suite includes an en suite bathroom with a flushing toilet and an open-style rain shower, offering just the right touch of barefoot luxury in this tranquil setting.

Step out onto your private deck to enjoy a sunrise coffee, stretch out on the sun-beds, or simply take in the rhythmic sounds of the sea.

DAY 11 – Depature Day or Extend Your Trip

After breakfast, you will game drive to the nearby airstrip and take an internal flight to Zanzibar and from there proceed with your onward travel arrangements.

Jesse & Susan - Follow Me North Photography

FOLLOW ME NORTH PHOTOGRAPHERS’ VALUES

Jesse and Susan Villemaire (better known as “Follow Me North”) are Canadian-born nature photographers and educators living a united life in Muskoka, Ontario. Their work encapsulates the true essence of the protected wildlife of Algonquin Provincial Park, and is the direct result of thousands of kilometres paddled, portaged and driven. Through photography, they hope to inspire others to conserve the natural world we all share. Today, they specialize in Wildlife and Landscape Photography Workshops, exploring a variety of remote, global destinations.

As a couple, nature and photography have been the foundation of their connection. Their photography workshops offer a space for you to unleash your creativity, discover joy in the quiet moments outdoors, and capture the world through your unique perspective. Whether you’re new to photography or aiming to enhance your skills, they are dedicated to supporting your personal growth and exploration. With them, it’s more than a photography workshop—it’s a journey, inspiring you to connect with the beauty of the natural world in your own, individual way. Let’s explore how photography can deepen your connection with nature and the community around you.

ROOTS

Susan began her career as a journalist, but has pivoted to the role of Producer and Educator over the last 10 years. In her previous life, she rooted herself in developing branded content for Fortune 500 brands under industry umbrellas 500px, Stocksy United and Shutterstock. Weaving her love of the written word and knowledge of creative production together, Susan aims to provide hands-on, practical training to build upon each photographer’s confidence and help them design a body of work that tells a story.

For nearly 20 years, Jesse owned and operated a high-end tattoo studio in Cambridge, Ontario. His former life allowed him to travel across Canada and the US, educating artists on the importance of health and safety practices in the Body Art industry. On his travels, he picked up a hobby that would later become the driving force – photography. After studying photography further in college, Jesse molded his love of educating into multi-day guided workshops in some of Canada’s most scenic locations. Jesse often finds himself all over the map in hot pursuit of the next unique encounter – hiking and paddling in places he would have otherwise bypassed if it were not for his love of adventure. Nothing brings him greater joy than spending time in nature with other photographers, collaborating and exchanging tricks of the trade.
