DAY 1: WELCOME TO YEREVAN, ARMENIA
Arrival early in the morning. Transfer to hotel. Rest. In the afternoon we will get acquainted with the capital of Armenia with the major sights of interest, during which you will see theRepublic Square, the Opera house, the Cascade where you will see the statue of the world-famous sculptor Fernando Botero “The Black Cat”. We will also drive via Baghramyan Avenue, where you will see the Parliament, the Palace of President, the National Academy of Sciences. The excursion also includes a stop in the Victory Park, at Mother Armenia monument, from where you will behold a panoramic view of the city and the Food Market with its variety of fresh and dried fruits. We will also visit Manuscript museum which has an amazing collection of beautifully illuminated medieval Armenian manuscripts, including medieval Bibles.

DAY 2: GARNI & GEGHARD
In the morning we will drive towards Garni and Geghard. First, we will visit the only surviving pagan temple at Garni, dating from the first century AD, is a splendid example of ancient architecture of Hellenistic period. At one time a great complex of palaces and temples, serving as a summer residence for the Armenian Kings, stood here.
We will then continue towards Geghard Cave Monastery – a fantastic sample of medieval Armenian architecture, which is a UNESCO site! Some buildings were carved out of solid rock. The acoustics inside is amazing. This is also the place, where in the middle ages was kept the Holy Lance, brought to Armenia by apostle St. Thaddeus in the 1st century.

DAY 3: RELIGIOUS CAPITAL & MARKET
Today we will take a trip to the religious capital of Armenia, the town of Echmiadzin. We will first visit the archeological site of Zvartnots Cathedral, which is a masterpiece of Armenian architecture dating to 7th century! The area is a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. We will then come to the main cathedral of Echmiadzin. Today it is the Holy See of Echmiadzin, where the Catholicos of Armenia resides. Legend tells that it was here that Jesus Christ descended from Heaven to show where he wanted a church to be built. Echmiadzin means “The Coming of Only Begotten”.
After returning to Yerevan you will also have a chance to explore the outdoor handicraft market Vernisage where you can find the most attractive hand-made souvenirs, carpets, handicrafts made from local volcanic glass obsidian, Armenian cross-stones (khachkars) made of colourful volcanic stone tuff, some interesting ceramic items, and other local souvenirs.

DAY 4: AMBERD ON MT. ARAGATS
After breakfast, we leave the hotel to explore the undiscovered corners of Armenia. Armenia’s long turbulent history has left it with a rich heritage of medieval monasteries and fortresses. We cross a high mountain pass and enter a hidden wilderness of mountain pastures carpeted with multicoloured flowers and broad valleys lined by snowy peaks. The way passes by a fast-running stream and spectacular mountains.
We are more likely to meet a shepherd than to meet visiting walkers on the trails. We pause at the first village of migratory shepherds to see the way of their life, life moves at a different pace here and it’s hard to re-enter the 21st century. We will come to Amberd fortress. With its towers, embrasures, and arches it is situated at the altitude of 2300m above sea level on a high cliff surrounded by deep gorges and full-flowing rivers. Here we take a short walk enjoying the fresh air and wonderful scenery of mountains and mutli-coloured flower fields.

DAY 5: SOUTHERN ARMENIA & SILK ROAD
In the morning we will drive through the Ararat valley towards Khor Virap monastery. Located at the foot of biblical Mt. Ararat, this complex embodies the adoption of Christianity in Armenia in 301 AD. Continue to Noravank monastery with intricate carvings, situated among the freakish plumb rosy cliffs. We pause en route to enjoy wine tasting at the village of Areni which is famous for its red dry wine.
Our trip is full of interesting sites, picturesque scenery, and history. We will follow the Silk Road and drive through Selim pass. At the top of the pass, we will have a stop to explore the Selim caravanserai, a very well-preserved monument of the 14th century, which provides a spectacular view of mountain ranges.
We will then come to the “Pearl of Armenia” – Lake Sevan, which is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world and the largest lake in Armenia. This fresh-water lake of volcanic origin is situated at an altitude about 1900m above sea level, among snow-covered mountains. If we are lucky we will witness the change of colours. Lake Sevan is a National Park and a specially protected area. Lake Sevan is also an important bird area.

DAY 6: NORTHERN ARMENIA
We continue our journey to the beautiful rolling valley framed by the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus. We will explore the resort town of Dilijan located in the midst of the forests of Dilijan National Park. Here we will walk through a museum-street of the town, which still preserves 19-century houses, stopping at a ceramicist’s studio, where we will try and make our own piece of ceramics.
Continue to Gyumri. Gyumri is located in the north-western part of Armenia, in the middle of Shirak valley, 126 km from Yerevan.
Walk in the historic district, Kumayri. Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life.

DAY 7: BARVA TO VARDZIA CAVE TOWN, GEORGIA
After breakfast – continue to the border with Georgia – just 1-hour drive.
Meet guests at Georgian-Armenian Border by Bavra. Drive to visit Vardzia Cave Town (12th century), which is one of the most remarkable defensive structures in the South Caucasus. It was founded under Queen Tamaras reign, known as the Golden Age of Georgia. Originally, it had thirteen floors, Numerous Tunnels, and Caves. Today, it takes 1.5 h to walk in its remains. Drive to Akhaltsikhe. On the way, one can see a lot of castles and fortresses, built in different centuries for protection against invaders. Near Vardzia have cheese making class.

DAY 8: AKHALTSIKHE – ANANURI – GUDAURI
In the morning drive to Akhaltsikhe. Visit the Rabath fortified complex. The complex has played an important role over the centuries and combines architectural styles of different periods: Georgian (12-15th c), Turkish (16-18th c), and Russian period (19th c).
Continue your way to the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Drive along Georgian Military Highway, which inspired many poets and writers with its beauty. On the way, visit Ananuri Fortress overlooking Jinvali water reservoir.

DAY 9: 4WD ADVENTURE & HIKE
In the morning continue your way along Georgian Military Highway and Cross Pass, to Sno village. In Sno change vehicle to 4WD car and drive to Juta Village. Walking through the Village and, then, along alpine fields towards Chaukhebi Glaciers (2550m). (appr 4 hrs). Have a picnic lunch.
Continue your way to Stepantsminda, to St. Trinity Gergeti Church (2170 m) situated on the slopes of Kazbegi mountain (5047m).
Drive back to Gudauri.

DAY 10: JVARI to TBILISI
In the morning drive to visit Jvari monastery at the top of a high cliff and have a splendid panoramic view of how two rivers, Aragvi and Mtkvari join each other.
Continue your way to Tbilisi to enjoy a Tbilisi Sightseeing tour. The historic part of Tbilisi is located at the foot of the Narikala Fortress. It charms visitors with its romantic, narrow streets, beautiful facades, and picturesque sites next to each other, including Metekhi Church, Sioni Cathedral, Bridge of Peace, and famous sulphur bathhouses. Take the cable car to Narikala Fort and enjoy a panoramic view over the Old Town.
In the evening have dinner in the traditional restaurant with Folk Show.

DAY 11: KAKHETI WINE TOUR
Visiting the eastern region of Kakheti, noted for its hospitality and winemaking. Close to Telavi, visit a local producer of Qvevri Vessels which are essential for Georgian wine-making. Taste local homemade wine. Continue your way in Telavi and have a photo stop in the city center by King’s Fort. Visit the farmer’s market with fresh vegetables and fruit, aromatic spices, and local sweets – Churchkhela.
Drive to Kisisikhevi village. Visit the wine center. Enjoy an excursion in the wine center Mosmieri and wine tasting. Learn how to cook Georgian dumplings Khinkali and local sweet – Churchkhela. Have lunch with regional dishes. Drive to a small town of Sighnaghi with a picturesque view of Alazani Valley. It is surrounded by a defensive wall built in 18th century. Walk around the town.
Drive back to Tbilisi. Free evening.
